We are looking for a cook to work for one of our clients in the Public Sector.
The post holder is responsible for providing a range of catering services within the establishment, and for contributing to care planning processes by communicating observations and liaison with clients, relatives, other staff and agencies, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
As an effective and flexible member of a small team and working closely with other staff, the post holder will be expected to work to an agreed programme of work with minimum supervision, supervise staff as appropriate and be able to taker appropriate action in the event of an emergency.
The post holder will be expected to work to standards which equate to NVQ catering Standards Level 2 and NVQ Customer Service Standards level 3.
Maintain a safe and secure working environment

Clean food production areas, equipment and utensils.
Handle and maintain knives.
Maintain and promote hygiene in food storage, preparation and cooking.
Prepare and cook basic meat, poultry and offal dishes.
Prepare and cook basic fish dishes.
Prepare and cook basic sauces and soups.
Prepare and cook vegetables for basic hot dishes and sauces.
Prepare and cook basic hot and cold desserts.
Prepare and cook basic pulse dishes.
Prepare and cook basic rice dishes.
Prepare and cook basic dough dishes.
Prepare and cook basic pastry dishes.
Prepare, cook and finish basic cakes, sponges and scones.
Prepare and cook basic pasta dishes.
Prepare and cook basic vegetable protein dishes.
Prepare and cook basic egg dishes.
Receive, handle and store food deliveries.
Prepare and present food for cold preparation.
Related experience in work, voluntary or home setting
Understanding and appreciation of the needs and feelings of older people
Understands the nature of confidentiality
Understands the importance of an overall teamwork approach
Prepared to undertake further training
Have an appreciation of the need to cater for special diets
